Hello, my name is Queso and I am a cute Chihuahua. I am 7 years old and weigh 8 pounds.
Life in a home is new to me and I am learning so much! I am coming out of my shell every day and am doing my best to be a brave little Chihuahua. Some days I go to work with my foster mom and other days I stay at home up to 9 hours in a gated area. My foster parents leave me potty pads that I use when they are gone and I am also learning how to go potty outside. I know I will master it eventually!
My favorite thing to do is to eat, chew on raw bones and sleep! At meal time, I will wiggle my whole body. I am a champion wiggle butt. Did I mention that I LOVE to eat?! I sleep in bed near my foster mom and will lie on the couch with her. Eventually, I hope to muster enough courage to start cuddling! These are a few of the things I enjoy. J
I am still quite nervous around people and do best when folks approach me slowly. As I adjust to my new life, I would prefer to live in a home without children. I would LOVE (and require) another dog companion though, and a small one would be even better! They can teach me how to be brave and that people are fun and loving. And I will teach them how to wiggle. I live with some pups right now and enjoy being their little shadow! And guess what?! I don’t even mind cats.
I am a sweet little pup and simply want to learn about all the joys of life. I would love to learn about them with you if you have space for me in your heart! Whaddya say!?
Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends. In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.
Please understand that all of our pets are in foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please email us to confirm attendance.
All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications and fill out a foster application.
Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets. All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet. All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
