Hope

American Pit bull Terrier Mix

Spayed Female

Birthdate: 2013

Hope is a very sweet pit mix who was wandering on a rural country road when she was found by a Good Samaritan who brought her to our clinic.  It was obvious that she had given birth in the preceding four to five months but there were no puppies with her when she was found.  Hope loves people and some dogs but we have to be honest and say that she is not always dog friendly.  We can let her out in the backyard with other dogs in our adoption program and as long as they leave her alone to do her own thing or lay in a sunny spot she is fine.  However if they try and engage her in activity she sometimes reacts adversely.  We do believe a lot of this behavior is due to being in a kenneled situation.  Some dogs can tolerate being in a kenneled situation with no ill effects and some cannot.  Hope is one that does not thrive in a kenneled environment.  With all this being said, Hope is still a good dog.  Her ideal home would be one without other pets and with an owner or family who will be diligent in continuing her training in regard to leash walking and other commands.  Another important aspect of training for Hope will be to talk her on walks where she will see new people and animals so that she will become more confident and self-assured.  In addition, she would love a secured yard to lounge around in on sunny days.  Could your home be the perfect one for Hope?
