Facts about GIGI

  • Breed: American Shorthair
  • Color: Orange Or Red Tabby
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Medium
Gigi came to Home Fur Good as a stray. We believe she might have been abused/hit because she used to flinch at the sight of a hand approaching her faces for a pat, but with love and patience from our volunteers she has learned that many people are good. We are very proud of Gigi for she has come a long way; in fact, she craves and enjoys human company now. She is one of the first cats to greet you as you walk into the cat room and her eyes plead with you:" Please, pet me! Please, pay attention to me !" She really enjoys attention as long as petting is gentle, slow and easy -- she does not appreciate rough play or handling and she does not enjoy being picked up. Gigi is one of those cats who would rather be the center of your attention without any rivals, she would do better as the only cat at her new home. She is also a very playful girl; she especially enjoys playing with a string or any other fun interactive toy. When it comes to solo play, she will carry certain toys in her mouth while making funny meowing sounds. She is a lot of fun to be around!
Her date of birth is 1/15/2015.
Her $85 adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, up-to-date vaccinations, microchip and a free wellness visit with our vet within two weeks of the adoption date. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday, 11:00 am-4:00 pm and Mondays by appointment, and we are located at 10220 N. 32nd Street (just south of Shea Blvd.) in Phoenix. We offer a low-cost vaccine clinic on Sundays from 11:00 am-2:30 pm (walk-in; no appts.), a low-cost dental clinic on Wednesdays by appointment, and one free cat-behavior counseling. Please visit our website at for more information.

About Home Fur Good

About Our Shelter...

Home Fur Good is a non profit no kill animal shelter located in the NE Valley. We take a majority of our cats and dogs from County, many who have treatable medical conditions and would otherwise be put down. We assess physical and behavior and work with the cats/dogs to find the best suitable match. It is our goal that each cat or dog that comes to our shelter ultimately be placed in their "furever" homes.

We also operate a low cost vaccine and microchip clinic each Sunday. We want to help community be able to care for and keep their animals safe. We do not charge vet fee only fee for vaccine and microchip.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We do adoptions from shelter every Thursday 11:30am to 3:30 pm and we are at Petsmart Tatum and Shea every weekend; Fri. 1:00 - 6:00, Sat. & Sun. 10:30 - 4:30. Please check our website for more specifics.

Our Adoption Process...

Home Fur Good requires an approved application. We have trained adoption counselors to review and question any potential problems/issues with application. We do require an adoption fee which ranges for dogs $150-$275 and for cats $50-$100. All cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and come with 30 days of pet health insurance.
If another dog or dogs are present in the household we require a meet and greet prior to adoption. All members of the household must be on board with adoption. We do not adopt our rescues out without meeting person that will be responsible - no "gift" adoptions. We contract that if cat/dog must be relinquished they are returned to us. If there is a change of ownership we must be kept informed who responsible party is. Fees are non refundable.
