Vinnie is an active cat that was adopted from Animal Lifeline in 2004 as a one year old cat and recently returned when he was not adjusting to new pets that were brought into his home. When he returned he tested positive for FIV but is a very healthy cat that is not showing any signs of the disease, so we assume he is a just a carrier of FIV. He doesn't show any signs of slowing down and loves to watch the birds outside the window and gets excited when he sees the occasionally squirrel! He is an awesome cat that still has lots of love to give.

About Animal Lifeline of Iowa, Inc

About Our Shelter...

Animal Lifeline of Iowa, Inc is a special needs, no-kill animal shelter that accepts unowned dogs/puppies and cats/kittens that are disabled, injured, neglected, pregnant, nursing and orphans requiring bottle feeding. Along with veterinary care, our army of caring volunteers nurse the animal back to health and when healthy we place the animal up for adoption. Our founding belief is that every animal deserves a loving home and should not be killed simply because they have been at the shelter too long.
We are a 501 (c)3 charitable organization and rely solely on donations. We receive no government funding.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our adoption hours are Monday through Saturday 1 pm to 5 pm at the shelter. The shelter is located at 4521 SE 14th Street, Des Moines (between Mckinley and Watrous)

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption fee for adult dogs and cats is $100.00 and all animals are current on vaccines, have been spayed/neutered, wormed, and microchipped. Dogs are tested for heartworm and cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV. Puppies and Kittens are $125.00 and senior cats and dogs (7 years & older) is $50
All adopters must complete an adoption application. Visit our website for complete information on the adoption process and application. Website is
