Missy is a Shih Tzu mix with a tall slender body and a sweet little face. She is thought to be about seven years old and is just shy of ten pounds. She came into rescue after being picked up as a stray in Minneapolis by Animal Control. She had apparently been on her own for quite some time; she was very thin and needed to be groomed and thoroughly vetted. She is now fine and is healthy except for a "dry eye” condition. She has had dry eye for a long time and it was never treated before she was rescued. But she is now receiving eye medication and she feels much more comfortable, but she will have dry eye for the rest of her life and will require daily eye drops forever.
Missy loves to sleep in her foster mom’s lap, and will wait (not patiently) for her to sit down, jump in her lap, and curl up contentedly. She gets along well with her foster sister and brother dogs, and with the house cat, Mona. Missy is a good eater and joins in for treats with her foster dog siblings. She doesn’t like the very cold weather, but will go out and do her business and come in right away! Missy is somewhat of a couch potato and enjoys sleeping much of the day, but she also enjoys the company of her people and she would be happiest in a home where her family would be home with her much of the day. She is really a lap dog and would be content to sit in someone’s lap all day!
Missy is healthy, spayed, current on vaccinations, microchipped and on heartworm preventative. Her adoption fee is $220.00 plus $16.01 sales tax for a total fee of $236.01. Her foster parents would like her adoptive family to live within a reasonable driving distance of the Twin Cities and also encourage them to attend the Shih Tzu Rescue Reunion held in September.
