My basic info
Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi Everyone!! My name is Nasdaq and I am a handsome Blue and Gold Macaw. My foster family is not exactly sure whether I'm a boy or girl, so they are calling me "he". I, of course, know, but I'm not going to share :) I am approximately 20 years old and since Macaws normally live for a long time, that makes me just a spring chicken..or perhaps a spring macaw?
The vet gave me a clean bill of health, except that I'm a bit overweight. I am a GREAT eater and I will try just about everything my foster family offers me. Of course, they only offer me healthy, parrot friendly food. I love whole almonds in the shell, grapes (only if they are cut in half),all kinds of dried fruit and pellets. Veggies really aren't to my liking but my foster mommy keeps offering them to me, hoping that soon she will find one I like. Veggies are an important part of my diet and I know I need to eat them.
I am very friendly and I will step up for anyone, even those little mini humans that they refer to as "kids". I can also say "hi", "hello", bark like a dog and make cute little kissing noises. I love to hang out on the shower stall while my foster mommy is getting ready for work. Wood and cardboard are where it's at for me and I love love love to chew on both. I'm a little uncomfortable with head scritches but my foster family is confident that I will learn to love those too.
I am a very social bird and I love to be where the action is but I will let you know when I am ready to go back to my cage or go night night. I AM a Macaw, which means I do scream a little at night or when I feel I deserve more attention than I'm getting. This makes me unsuitable for apartment or condo living, so please have a single family home if you are interested in adopting me.
