Posted 01/15/16. Beautiful black and tan Zelda is a 17 lb. tweenie Doxie girl. She is 1 year old and still much like a puppy - she loves to chew up paper towels and tends to get into trouble when unsupervised. Much of this behavior will certainly go away once Zelda matures. Her foster mom has been working on potty training her and Zelda is making great progress and getting the idea. She most likely will still have to be worked with on that. Zelda also was not well socialized when she was a baby so she is leery of strangers and hides initially. But once you offer her a treat and she learns that there is no threat, she is your friend, very loving and affectionate. Zelda gets along great with other dogs and in fact, we would like a home for her where there is another dog her size that she could become friends with. Zelda Loves going for walks as much as she likes snuggling with her human. For Zelda we would like a home with active people who will take her for walks, give her a lot of individual attention and understand her needs of an initially rather timid pup who has not been exposed to a lot of activities and needs lots of socialization. We also are looking for a home with a securely fenced in yard. Zelda is current on vaccinations including Rabies, she is spayed, she tested negative for heartworm, she is on heartworm/flea prevention and she is micro chipped.
