Wilma's Story...
Just how much sweetness can a heart hold? Our precious little girl, Wilma, surely puts that question to the test. This little one will fill a heart up in record time. Wilma was found wandering as a stray, and no one came looking for her. She is a Chihuahua/rat terrier mix, and about 2 years old. She's a quiet little girl in her kennel, as if she's just watching and waiting for her special someone to meet her. Keeping with her Diva side, she loves to cuddle in her bed. She is all about a soft bed and fluffy blankets. Our girl keeps a very clean crate, which is a good sign that she may already be house trained. When she wants you to pick her up, she is very clear in her wish when she stands up on her back legs, as if to make it easier for you. Wilma is such a cuddler. Her eyes light up when you approach her to give her special loving, and it is easy to see that she would love to be someone's lap baby. As small as she is, she may not do much in the way of warming you when you snuggle with her, but she sure does warm the heart. Wilma would love a family that would treasure her and make her part of their home. You can be sure you would have a loyal companion for many years to come.

Breed identification by visual means is unreliable for most dogs. We are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. Each dog at CARA is an individual and we do our best to describe each animal based on personality, not by breed label.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Wilma, a Jackson Chihuahua/Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier for sale in Jackson, or seeking a Chihuahua/Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Jackson.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jackson already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jackson breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Rat Terrier breeders who help with Chihuahua/Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jackson paves the way for another one to be saved.
