Meet Beau! This handsome boy was rescued from BARC animal shelter here in Houston Texas by a guy who works with rescues to help pull dogs from that particular shelter. Beau was a pup who grew up on the streets before he was picked up by animal control, so he wasn't too sure what was expected of him when he was rescued. Thankfully, he came to stay with us so he could learn how to behave with people properly, other dogs, and to learn some manners. He has done AMAZING through our program and is now ready for a home of his own.

Beau is a happy dog who LOVES to run and play! He is young, estimated to be no more than 3 yrs of age, and this pup is looking for his next adventure full of love, laughter, and fun! We believe him to be a labrador/American bulldog mix of some sort, as he has very labrador qualities. He loves to play in the water, adores the game fetch, loves frisbees, gets along with all people and other dogs, and overall has a generally happy disposition every minute of every day! Sounds Lab to us!

Beau loves to run, so a big yard to run and play, or a household that is active and does lots of activities such as camping, hiking, walking, biking, etc is a great fit for Beau. He is exceptionally well behaved with his handler, and will follow your commands when given. He walks great both on and off leash, so for any hikers, bikers, or trail runners, this the boy for you! Once he's had his fun, he will curl up on his bed and take a rest, or happily chew on his elk antler which is always close by. Beau already has most of his basic obedience down, he knows sit, stay and settle. He also knows go to crate and lay down. Beau is very smart, so things like agility or dock dog he would more than excel at. He has a joy for life that spreads to whoever is close to him,. He currently gets along wonderful with all of his foster siblings, and all dogs he meets he is extremely friendly to. He will walk up and wag his tail excitedly and lick them in their face until they play with him. Sometimes his energy can be too much for other dogs in which case he can easily be called to sit at your side and relax a little until the other recover. Beau is great with people of all ages, and is very gentle so we think a family would be great for Beau.

He is great with training and responds great to all forms of reward including treats, toys, and affection! He learned his basics rather quickly and would excel being challenged to learn new things. Training is not only easy but his happy demeanor makes it enjoyable the whole way through. He is currently trained up in his basic obedience commands such as sit, stay, settle down, off, and kennel. He is kennel trained and housebroken, but is afraid of storms. For this reason we suggest getting him a thunder shirt as it helps him to settle down a lot more.

Beau is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, HW negative, and microchipped.
