Sophie's person moved and left her to fend for herself. Well Save A Kitty has now taken her in and she is now save and is in foster care. She has been spayed, tested negative for FIV & FELV, been dewormed, has had flea treatment, and she is up-to-date on her shots. She is surprisingly sweet and loves attention. She is now awaiting her forever home. Sophie acted as a therapy kitty to her prior sibling, a disabled doggy, helping the dog go up and down stairs. She was never trained to do this, she just did it out of compassion. Well, isn't it is time for her to be shown a little compassion in return! Save A Kitty thinks so and that is why we have taken her in to make sure that she is safe, healthy, and finds a wonderful family and forever home that truly deserve and appreciate just how special she really is. Please see our adoption process below:

Save A Kitty, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) kitty rescue. Our adoption process is as follows: We require a completed application (please go to:, a home check, and an adoption fee (with the amount depending upon the kitty). We will also discount the adoption fee, if an individual adopts 2 kitties at the same time. All of our kitties have been quarantined for a minimum of 15 days, had their shots, been tested for FIV/FELV, given parasite treatment, and will be spayed/neutered before being placed into their forever home.

About Save A Kitty, Inc

About Our Rescue Group...

Save A Kitty is a 501(c)(3) no-kill cat rescue. We rescue from the streets, or bail from city shelters. We are active in trap/neuter/return and are trying to do our best to help reduce the number of unwanted births. We have a network of foster volunteers who care for our babies in a home environment. Our kitties are loved and cared for and will remain in our care until they find their forever homes, and if that is with us. so be it. We do what we do because we feel that all life is equal, a kitten with no home deserves to be loved and nurtured no less than any other being.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold kitty adoptions at the Petco in Van Nuys and Granada Hills as well as Whole Foods. Please contact us to find out our adoption dates, times, and locations.

Our Adoption Process...

We have a 2 page application. We do a home check and have an option if we adopt to do a follow-up visit. Our adoption contract is a legal document and includes no release of adopted cats to a third party. We have an adoption fee that ranges from $125 to $200 depending upon the kitty, which helps us with some of the medical costs to ready our kittens for adoption (including testing for FIV/FELV, spaying/neutering, shots, deworming, and flea treatment). If 2 cats are being adopted, we will sometimes reduce the fee. Even if we do a home check, that does not constitute an adoption.
