Here's what the humans have to say about me:
To MEET Walnut - fill out an application. Cut and paste this link into your web browser: www.welcomehomedogrescue.org/adoption/application-to-adopt-a-companion/
Apply to FOSTER: www.welcomehomedogrescue.org/how-you-can-help/foster/
Foster parents have the first option to adopt. We will provide all you need to foster.
Weight: 15.5 lbs
Age: 11 months
Personality: He loves to cuddle and is affectionate to others. Super friendly dog.
Coat: Very soft and silky, and will require regular bathing and grooming since his hair will grow. Sheds very little, if any.
Training: Foster family is working on it.
Potty trained: He is not 100% potty trained. He goes outside in the yard or inside on pee pads. He is learning to potty while on leash.
Health: He is very healthy. Snores from slightly narrowed nostrils, so he won't be super heat tolerant. Flatter faced dogs (like Bulldogs and Pugs often have these issues.) Eyes, ears, heart, knees and hips good. Tested negative for heartworm and parasites.
History: Walnut, his mom and 5 of his brothers were abandoned by his owner at a pet hotel (boarding facility) in S. Korea. They were saved by a dog rescue in Korea. The mom (Hazelnut) and 4 of the puppies including Walnut have been brought to the US, to find permanent homes.
Fostered in: San Pedro
Type of home: Would be suitable for a family or single person, as long as they have the time and energy to spend training a dog. Foster family has kids, cats and dogs and Walnut does very well with them.
Crate trained: Yes
Good with Dogs: YES
Good with Kids: YES
Good with Cats: YES
Adoption fee (non-refundable): $300
All dogs are fully vetted, tested for heartworm, microchipped, and up to date with vaccinations.
Our adoption process looks like this:
1. Adoption application review by WHDR board
2. Adoption application approval
3. Meet and greet
4. Home safety check
5. Final approval and adoption finalized
Our volunteers, donors and adopters mean the world to us! Without you, we couldn't do what we do - saving the lives of abused, neglected and abandoned dogs and providing them with a loving forever home.
