My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When Aiden's rescuer walked down the aisle of the dismal Texas shelter, she was shocked to see the adorable (and extremely dirty and matted) Aiden tucked tightly into a cage...his time was up. Farfel's immediately got a call describing how incredibly cute and sweet this Maltipoo is..and the need to save his life. We immediately agreed and Aiden became a very treasured Farfel's dog. He earned a ticket to a wonderful new life in Colorado with his great temperament that held every possibility for a great future.

At just 2.5 - 3 years old and 11 lbs, this very beautiful pup is a blank slate waiting for positive input and guidance to be the best dog he's capable of being. We'd love to match Aiden to a family that will spend lots of time with this very portable guy. He's a perfect size to accompany his family just about anywhere...and would love it.

Positive reinforcement group obedience class will not only provide socialization and great skills...but will cement the relationship between Aiden and his family. He's so smart that he's a natural to succeed in learning his skills...and would be so excited at his success!

Aiden gets lots of attention when he's out and about...he's engaging (while a bit shy at first) and as sweet as can be. He's also extremely eye-catching...he appears to be a Maltese/Poodle.. but we would never swear to it. He's just an adorable and fun scruffy guy that's irresistible!

When Aiden turns that gentle look in your direction (with those amazing dark and expressive eyes), you can't help but smile at his adorable ways. You can see a bit of a sign that this young pup has had difficult times. But not for him to be negative..a smile and a wag is more Aiden's style. It's clear that he is working on leaving any pain behind.

Farfel's Rescue is searching for an adult family for Aiden. It's not that he actively doesn't like young kids..it just appears that Aiden is more comfortable and braver around adult energy. A retired couple or individual would be perfect for this guy. He would thrive on the time and attention that retirees often put into their pets. Once bonded, Aiden will be a loyal and positive companion....that makes him very easy to spend time with just enjoying the wonders of life in Colorado. Aiden would also enjoy time with dogs of similar size who can be gentle playmates. When you're only 11 lbs, even a very well-adjusted pup can be intimidated by large, rambunctious dogs.
.
Aiden is an extremely beautiful dog (but you would never know that in his sad shelter photo). We are waiting for new photos of Aiden at his Texas foster home. He's so grateful being out of the shelter that there's almost a smile on his beautiful face. Aiden is a very happy guy once he's comfortable...a bit of patience, treats and belly rubs will truly get this guy's attention as he's had far too little of all in his life.

Aiden's foster mom is very happy to report that he is coming out of his shell more each day...he's blossoming. She's very clear that Aiden will be a wonderful and bonded family member when he has love and nurturing as a part of his life.

Aiden will be arriving on transport in Boulder on 1/29/16. Applications are being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.
