Senay's Story...

Meet Senay, a 4 year old Jack Russell Terrier. Senay had a rough go of things as a pup. She suffered a throat injury due to prolonged use of a shock collar and choke chain, and had her leg broken (we are under the impression it was done by a person) when she was 4 months old. Her leg was not fixed in time so she had to have a femoral head ostectomy: the top of her femur bone was removed. Her one leg is now shorter than the other and her hip is held together by cartilage, muscle, and scar tissue.

Despite all of this, Senay is a happy-go-lucky girl who loves to jump in your laps for cuddles. Senay ADORES children, and gets along with most male dogs of equal size. She needs a new foster home as her and her current foster brother do not see eye to eye and we would hate for this little lady to go through any more than she already has. Although she has lived with cats, she will chase them if they run, so dog-savvy cats are a must. Jack Russells are a fairly high energy breed, so her foster family must be willing to give her daily exercise. She must also stay in a home where she can be left to roam free in the house (she is house trained), as prolonged confinement may negatively affect her leg.

Senay is spayed, dewormed, and vaccinated, and will be microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Senay, please submit an adoptionr application at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Senay, a Edmonton Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Edmonton, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Edmonton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Edmonton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Edmonton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Edmonton paves the way for another one to be saved.
