Radar is a 2 year old Rottweiler/Shepherd cross that was transferred to us from another rescue organization. He came from a rural community with a severely injured leg, and had to undergo a femoral head ostectomy. He has healed well from surgery and is looking for his forever home. Radar is playful yet calm in the house. He does like to do his laps around to see what everyone is up to. He would be great for a family with older children. He would love to go for walks daily but struggles with leash reactivity. He has been doing better with the help of anti-anxiety medication and since attending a reactive dog class, but still has room to improve. Radar loves to please and loves to be told what to do. He can be sassy sometimes and will bark back but will do what he is told. It's pretty cute when he does it! He loves routine and will come wake you up when it's time for breakfast. He is very loyal and loves his people. He will need a consistent owner who understands him. Radar is very readable and you can see behaviors before they happen. He is very easily redirected most times, but if he goes over a certain threshold, he can be hard to distract. Radar is a very loving dog who loves to cuddle. He really is a giant goofball who thinks hes a little dog. He currently lives with two small dogs and has learned to get along with them.

Radar will only be adopted to a home committed to using rewards-based, force-free training: this means no choke chains, pinch collars, shock collars, or dominance-based training methods.

Radar is neutered, vaccinated, and tattooed/microchipped. His adoption fee is $350. If you are interested in adopting Radar, please submit an adoption application at http://animalrescueandoutreach.com/adoption-application.
