Kelsie's Story...
Kelsie is a 2 year old spayed female German Shepherd Dog we rescued from a local animal control facility. We are still getting to know Kelsie, so far we have learned she is extremely loving with people. Kelsie has gotten along well with all the other dogs we have exposed her to in the kennel, she is currently bunking with Lacey and they are fabulous friends! We feel that due to Kelsie's size and boisterous nature she is not suitable for a home with small children. German Shepherd Dogs are very sensitive and wear their heart on their sleeve, they are extremely loving and should be inside, a part of the family, a true family member. Kelsie will not be adopted to an outdoor home as a "yard dog" or "guard dog."
PLEASE NOTE: AS WITH MOST OF OUR LARGE BREED DOGS WE WILL REQUIRE PREVIOUS GSD EXPERIENCE, A SECURELY FENCED YARD, AN EXCELLENT VET HISTORY, NO CHILDREN UNDER 10, AND ACCEPTANCE OF A HOME VISIT PRIOR TO APPROVAL.
Please be sure you MEET these minimum requirements before you apply to adopt Kelsie. All applications will be checked thoroughly and those that do not meet these requirements will be denied.

If you are interested in adopting this pet, please download and complete our Preliminary Adoption Application and return it per the instructions given. Once your application is approved an adoption consultant will contact you and arrange a personal meeting for you with Kelsie.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kelsie, a McDonough German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in McDonough, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in McDonough.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in McDonough already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a McDonough breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in McDonough paves the way for another one to be saved.
