Sweet Ella. What can I tell you about this darling girl? Quite a lot, actually. Let's start with her "before" story. Let's go to Georgia, autumn 2015:

Ella was owned by a hunter. This particular hunter was a cruel man. He set her and several other dogs, thought to be her siblings, free in the woods and then shot at them. He successfully killed all of the others with that gun, but Ella got away.

It took good samaritans weeks to finally be able to catch Ella. She was petrified. We can only imagine the abuse she suffered at the hands of this evil man. She remained distraught, untrusting, afraid...

Her rescuers reached out for an organization to save Ella. We agreed. Ella is presently in foster in NC. Ella has made great strides. She wants so badly to trust people, but understandably, it is very hard for her. She has come around very well with her foster mom and her immediate family. She gets along with other dogs and cats as well.

Ella is going to need some serious TLC in her adoptive home. She is scared of anyone new, but men especially terrify her. She is housebroken, and is working on walking on a leash. She is about 1 year old, and a medium sized treeing walker coonhound, 40-50 pounds. She needs PATIENCE. Another dog, or several, would probably be best - she has always been with other dogs, and they give her some sense of security.

Ella has already come so far in the past 6 months...can you imagine enduring what she has? Will YOU be the one that makes her feel safe, for the rest of her life? A quieter home setting would be ideal, with not a lot of people in and out. She is going to need TIME - lots of it. I promise, if you make this commitment, you will be repaid ten-fold when you see her start over again. Ella is not aggressive - Ella will cower in fear and shake. We want her to stand tall...

Ella is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. She comes with 30 days of FREE health insurance. Her adoption donation is $200. If you would like to make Ella a part of YOUR family...give her a piece of your heart...please complete the adoption application located at You won't be sorry.
