My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tasha is a sweet lovable smooth coated Chihuahua mix; she has a brown coat with a charming puff of soft white hair on the top of her head (Chinese Crested ?) and an incredibly unusual black and white streak of hair down her back. She was turned over to another shelter by her owner and arrived at the Safehouse 01/07/2016. Often when confronted with a cute little dog, people forget that it is a living creature that requires lifestyle changes and many many years of commitment. We guess Tasha was born in 2014. She is housetrained but will still need help adjusting to your household and schedule. A 12-pound spirited bundle of love, kisses and energy; shy at first, when she warms up she is a typical fun loving, playful, energetic youngster: alert, perpetual motion, easily bored and, coupled with her natural terrier inquisitiveness, can get into mischief in an unguarded second. Tasha gets along well with other small dogs (we don’t know about cats). Quiet (not the least bit barky as some Chihuahuas can be!!), well-mannered, can be trusted to behave when home alone, she can entertain herself but much prefers interacting with people of all ages. Tasha is spayed, has a microchip, is current on all vaccines, heartworm and flea/tick preventative, and has had a complete physical and dental. The adoption fee for Tasha is $350.
