My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our foster dogs live as family members in the foster home until chosen for adoption. You can contact the foster, Mishelle, at mishellefrench@gmail.com for more information on how this sweet baby can become part of your family

Georgie is a 4-ish year old pit bull terrier, who always keeps her people laughing. She loves going for walks, runs, playing fetch, and running around with the neighborhood dogs. She is comical and always seems to have a smile on her face. She does well in her crate while her foster mom is at work; then needs a quick walk or some playtime before settling back down to nap all evening. She is house trained and rarely barks, even though the neighbor dogs love to bark at her. She eagerly plays with kids and is gentle with them, but her excitement and constantly wagging-tail might frighten and knock over little ones. She does great with well-mannered dogs, but if another dog growls or nips at her, she won’t be happy about it. She needs supervision with new dog friends until they prove they can get along well. She was around a cat for a little while and was quite interested in being the cat’s best friend, but alas, the cat steadfastly refused to have anything to do with our sweet Georgie.

Three years ago, Georgie had 8 puppies at the SPCA Cincinnati and was taken to a foster home through Sheltered Paws. She was not a regular mom, she was a cool mom, who would rather play with her puppies than feed them! It was hard to blame her, however, for at the time, she was still basically a puppy herself. Her puppies were adopted, and after she healed up a bit, she was spayed and then adopted. She enjoyed three years with her new family, but sadly, due to circumstances beyond her control or their control, she finds herself in need of a new home. She has returned to her original foster home where she is once again making her foster mom laugh daily.

The ideal home for Georgie would be able to be a little active with her—either daily walks, runs, or a fenced-in yard with other dogs to run around with. We would prefer her new family to own a home instead of renting, simply because so many rental properties have issues with her breed and we don’t want her to have to find another new home in the future if her family would need to move. Georgie is spayed, up to date on shots, and comes with her crate, bed, toys, leash, collar, and some food. Sheltered Paws will pay for her new family to take her to dog training classes to help her adjust to a new home. We want Georgie to have a great life with some great people

PLEASE contact the foster, Mishelle, at mishellefrench@gmail.com for more information on how this sweet lady can become part of your family.
