Mia's Story...
Mia is a darling 11 week old Aussie/Retriever mix. She looks a bit like a Border Collie with her fluffy black and white coat, and she has natural red highlights every woman dreams of. This munchkin truly loves life, and her tail never stops wagging. Whether she's racing around the yard with her siblings and the adult dogs in her foster home or playing with her toys, Mia can always bring a smile to her foster mom's face. She is attentive and listens eagerly for direction from her people. An active girl, Mia definitely needs her exercise but is more than happy to curl up for a nap and a cuddle at the end of the day. She is crate trained, sleep through the night fabulously, and is working on her house training. Mia has been in foster care since she was 1 week old, so she is very well socialized.

Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (www.anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible, organization. We are an all volunteer group, so after submitting your application, if you don't hear back from us within a few days, please e-mail us at adoption@anewchancear.org. Be sure to read about the adoption process (http://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-process/) on our website, so you'll know what to expect and fill out all fields on the adoption application (http://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/) or we won't be able to process it. We are a foster-based rescue and do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. Please do not contact us requesting a meeting with a dog because we are an all-volunteer organization, and these requests tie up our volunteers who could instead be checking applications.

As you can imagine, we are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (http://anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We do not have a shelter facility and we provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering, and microchipping before transporting our dogs. Then, we provide whatever follow up care is necessary while they are in foster care. All of this is very expensive and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources, so if you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (http://anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through your kindness and that of supporters like you that we are "changing lives...one tail at a time" by providing our dogs with "A New Chance." (www.anewchancear.org)

Thanks so much.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mia, a Bedford Hills Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Bedford Hills, or seeking a Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Bedford Hills.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bedford Hills already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bedford Hills breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Border Collie/Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bedford Hills paves the way for another one to be saved.
