* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, for an application. * We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted. * We do not ship our dogs for any reason. * Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy. * If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted:

Skipper is a 3-4 year old Schipperke mix. He's a chunky one. Sorry to say he's like 25lbs....We will fully admit that we have overfed him. We rarely have to worry about that with dogs we get out of the shelter because we're usually just trying to help them gain weight and well, this little man needed a lot more low calorie food and more walks than we realized...But we're on the case now! We have seen the light.

Skipper is an amazing option for a home that doesn't have other dogs. He can go out in public and be around other dogs but he's also a great option for living in a home and being loved as someone's one and only. He's not a nuisance barker. He could live in an apartment or condo setting. He's a good option for someone who has previous dog experience because he's a crazy puller on the leash and he would do best with a home that has boundaries and doesn't need to spoil him to death.

Skipper has a pretty easy to maintain coat. He's a lot of wash and wear.

**Not all of our dogs go to each adoption event. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)

**If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.

About Doggie Protective Services (DPS) - Palo Alto

About Our Rescue Group...

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
