Copper's Story...

Estimated Birthday:  Oct 08

Estimated Weight:  50 lbs.

Hi, I'm Copper, and I'm supposed to be a bullmastiff / American bulldog cross -- the family that bought me from the breeder swears they saw my parents and that's what they were.  Since it's almost impossible to predict what a first generation cross of any two breeds will look like (could be mostly mom, could be mostly dad, could be a mix of the two, or could be a throwback to a previous relative no one knows), it's possible I am an American bullmastiff, but I'm a very light weight one if I am.  Unfortunately, as a puppy I had a horrible case of demodex (puppy mange), and that is very normal for both my suspected breeds :(  That's why I came into rescue -- my new family didn't have the resources to deal with my lack of hair and infected skin and knew I needed help they couldn't provide.  Like most pups, I've outgrown the demodex and have turned into a stunning young dog, so now it's time for me to find my forever home.  Could it be yours?  I can be a bit bossy, so it would be best for me to be an only dog or placed with a female of similar size ...

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Copper, a San Antonio American Bulldog/Bullmastiff dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Bulldog/Bullmastiff for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a American Bulldog/Bullmastiff dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Bulldog/Bullmastiff breeders who help with American Bulldog/Bullmastiff rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
