Medina's Story...
*** This is a courtesy posting for Medina's foster mom, Palani; please contact her directy at to adopt Medina or for more information about her. *** Here is what Palani says about Medina: Medina is a pitbull something that was abandoned at Medina River Natural Area. I got her on October 20, 2008. She weighed 45 pounds when I first got her but she weighs 60 now. Her ribs and backbone were showing when I got her but she's a good eater. She’s at least a year, according to the vet. She is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm free, and microchipped. She is very friendly and gets along with my 3 other dogs. SHE DOES NOT LIKE CATS!! A friend of mine, who has cats, took her. She bought a shock collar to try and train her to stay away from the cats. It didn’t work. She had a lot of scratches and wounds when I first got her. She is kennel trained and housebroken. She is very, very energetic and loves the water. I have one of those dog pools and she loves to blow bubbles in the water (of course, she still hates getting a bath). She loves, loves to snuggle and sneak onto my bed under the covers after I fall asleep. She emits a lot of heat. Comment from Hound Haven: We've met Medina and she is a VERY sweet girl :)

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Medina, a San Antonio American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in San Antonio, or seeking a American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in San Antonio.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Antonio already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Antonio breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Antonio paves the way for another one to be saved.
