Cheshire's Story...
Cheshire was rescued the night before he was to be euthanized. He was the alpha male in a feral cat colony of apx 25. The community was not allowing the cats to be release After their surgeries. This is where an angel of a woman stepped in and trapped, neutere/spayed them and got them all rehomed. Just Cheshire and his brother remained without a home. That's where we came in. The two week hold was up and he and his brother were to be destroyed the following day, so we agreed to step in and try to net work for these boys while we fostered them. Cheshire is very wild. He has been shot at by people in the past. He is fearful of people, but not as much as he was. He needs an understanding foster or forever will allow him To just be himself. He has been being kept in an extra large dog crate since his arrival here. We are in the structuring process of a cat pen, hoping that will allow him some more freedom... Would you please consider opening your life to this beautiful soul. He deserves a second chance Freedom.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cheshire, a Ocala Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Ocala, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Ocala.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Ocala already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Ocala breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Ocala paves the way for another one to be saved.
