My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peyton is a 7 year old female purebred Golden Retriever with lots of love to give. She is learning what it is like to be part of a family. Previous to being rescued, she spent most of her life having litters of puppies. She is very apprehensive of many things, as everything is new to her. She has quickly learned that it is fun to be petted and loves being talked to.

When Peyton first arrived into foster care, she didn't even want to come inside. Once inside, she found rooms far away from everyone else where she felt safe. She wouldn't even make eye contact. In the short time she has been in foster care, she has made huge strides. She now lays next to her human companions while they work or watch T.V., and follows her person from room to room. She is still apprehensive of new situations and noises, but it doesn't take long for her to adjust.

She does well on a leash and is learning commands like sit, stay, off and down. She is also working on being housebroken.

Peyton weighs about 64 pounds, but with a little exercise and the right kind of food, she will be at her target weight of about 55 pounds.

She does well with other dogs, cats and children. Her fur-ever home would be one where things are predictable and structured. She would do OK as an only dog as long as her person is home the majority of the time.

Would you like to give this sweet girl the wonderful forever home she so deserves?
