My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Roger is a bio-medical research retiree, who also helped vets learn how to handle and examine patients. Quite a resume for a 4-yo! He is also an absolute cutie and cuddle bug who is certain that the world is his friend. He is a happy, active (but not hyper) boy who loves to play and explore.

Roger likes other dogs around his size, and will attempt to engage them in play on occasion. While he doesn’t dislike bigger dogs, he does seem to avoid engaging them in play (that may be because the bigger dogs in his foster home play rough).

Roger is doing very well with housetraining, with access to a doggie-door, although there is still the occasional accident, especially when it is raining. He likes his crate, choosing it as a place to relax and take his “treasures”, whether they are treats or toys, but be warned when he wants/needs out, or he feels it is dinner time and he is in his crate, he can be LOUD!

Roger loves to cuddle, and will also accept being held like a baby, as long as he is getting attention and love, it is all good. Roger is active, and will benefit from more practice on leash, but he does enjoy his walks as long as there are not a lot of cars (or scary garbage trucks). Walks at the local park are occasions for JOY! He is ALL beagle when it comes to sniffing, so don’t expect a jogging partner, but he sure is fun for a stroll!
