Gracie's Story...
Meet Gracie! She is 2-3 years old and was rescued from the streets with a broken leg and jaw after being hit by a car. After we nursed her through surgery and recovery, she found a home that we hoped was forever. However, to no fault of her own, she is looking for a home once again due to a new family member's severe allergies and health issues. Gracie warms up quickly and is an absolute LOVE with the people in her life - if you're looking for an affectionate cuddle buddy, look no further! She even enjoys belly rubs too. Her first owners describe Gracie as an ideal tv-watching companion, a wonderful napper and an excellent conversationalist. She is very playful, especially with her teaser and any dangly string, and loves to hang out in paper bags. One of her favorite activities is getting her hair brushed, which is understandable given that she is one of the fluffiest softest cats you'll ever meet! Gracie is great with dogs, and co-existed well with male cat friends during her time living on the streets. She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready to go home with you! Email adopt@rescuzillanyc.org to meet her, or fill out an application at www.rescuzillanyc.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gracie, a NEW YORK Russian Blue cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Russian Blue for sale in NEW YORK, or seeking a Russian Blue cat from a breeder in NEW YORK.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in NEW YORK already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a NEW YORK breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Russian Blue breeders who help with Russian Blue rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in NEW YORK paves the way for another one to be saved.
