My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there. My name is Duke. I'm just a little over a year old and I weigh about 65 lbs.
I was adopted from the pound here a couple of months ago(My name was Poacher when I was here before). My family really loved me and they really, really didn't want to get rid of me, but some of the neighbors really hated the barking that I did when my owners went away. I was kept in the house, in my crate when they would go away. I guess I just got bored or whatever, so i would bark. I bark here too... mostly when I am in my kennel, but sometimes when I am out in the play yard and I get excited. Barking is definitely common amongst coonhounds, but barking for no reason is something that should be corrected.
I am a really great dog aside from the barking issue.
I am very friendly with people. I absolutely love other dogs and I am very silly and playful.
I do pretty well inside, though I do still need a little work on my potty training.
I am really hoping that a new family will see my true potential and open up their heart and home to me.
If you're looking for a wonderful, sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me.

I appear to be in good health. I have been given my Parvo/ Distemper vaccine and I have been dewormed with panacur dewormer.

PLEASE CONSIDER THIS DOG, AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER DOGS AT OUR SHELTER AS URGENT. OUR KENNEL SPACE HERE AT THE POUND IS VERY LIMITED. THIS DOG COULD BE EUTHANIZED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE ANY TIME AFTER MAY 24, 3016.
HERE AT THE COLUMBIANA COUNTY DOG POUND, WE TRY VERY HARD TO PLACE ALL OF OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS IN TO LOVING HOMES OR SEND THEM TO GREAT, APPROVED RESCUE GROUPS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ONLY KEEP OUR DOGS HERE AT THE POUND AS LONG AS SPACE ALLOWS.

MY ADOPTION FEE IS $110 CASH, WHICH COVERS MY NEUTER SURGERY (WHICH MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO ME LEAVING THE SHELTER), MY PARVO/DISTEMPER VACCINE, RABIES VACCINE, DEWORMING AND MY CURRENT OHIO DOG LICENSE WHICH WILL BE HONORED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF OHIO.

THE POUND IS OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 8 AM- 4 PM AND SATURDAY FROM 9 AM- 12 PM. WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS.
