This is Liam aka LeeLee. He is a very sweet 2-year-old boy!  Liam is a house trained, neutered, 20lb shih Tzu mix. Liam has a long, soft, and luxurious coat that is wonderful for petting and he loves to be brushed. One of Liam’s favorite things is food but he is not a beggar. He loves his toys, especially the ones with squeakers. Every day at his foster’s house he takes each and every toy out of the toy basket to play. He is a great snuggler and enjoys being a couch companion. He is a good watchdog too. He loves to sit in the window and watch the goings on in the neighborhood but he is not overly barky. He does alert if something “special” is going on.

The ideal home for Liam will be a quiet home with someone who is around part of the day. Liam was quite nervous when he came to us but he has blossomed nicely and now walks bravely on a leash. He enjoys his daily strolls around the neighborhood, but also enjoys playing outside and rolling in the grass. A fenced yard would be great for him.  Meeting new people can be scary for Liam so he needs to be introduced slowly. Liam likes other dogs but can be fearful of larger dogs.

About Caring Hearts Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Caring Hearts Rescue is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization based in Fairfax Virginia. Our volunteers rescue toy breed dogs from desperate situations including neglect, puppy mill rescue, owner surrender and euthanasia by animal shelters due to overpopulation. All of our rescued dogs stay in safe foster homes while they await their "forever home." Our rescued babies are examined and given inoculations and spayed or neutered before placement. We search for families that understand the responsibility of being a Guardian to these little guys and consider them members of the family.

Come Meet Our Pets...

CHR facilitates all the meetings with your rescued dog. Potential adopters will make arrangements with a CHR representative to meet your foster dog. We then contact the foster parent to arrange a meeting at a convenient location for the foster parent.

Our Adoption Process...

The first step is filling out a application at the following address http://www.caringheartsrescue.org/Adopt.html . Click on the apply button under the dog you are interested in.

If you have pets, you will be required to provide medical records for your current pets as proof that they are up to date on vaccines, spayed or neutered and on heart worm preventative. We will contact you after this first step is completed. Thank you very much for your time!
