My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID

Sammy is a 9 year old Maltese/Poodle mix who is in need of a loving forever home. Don’t let this guy’s age fool you! You’d never know he’s 9! He’s a very active boy can be silly, goofy and a whole lot of fun.

Sadly this boy was spoiled his entire life and never given any boundaries or rules. He was allowed to do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted leading to Sammy developing some bad behaviors. Mainly he liked to use his teeth on people to stop them from doing what he didn’t like (such as putting on a leash or walking away from him when he wanted attention). While in foster care Sammy has been working on un-learning this behavior; he has a ton of improvement and self-control; including learning to be great for his groomer. Sammy will need continued training and trust building in a new home but we know he is a good dog and can make someone a loving companion (his foster parents adore him). Positive reinforcement only methods are especially important! Because of his behavior issue, he should go to a home with no children; he would also do better in a quieter home where there are not a ton of distractions.

Sammy loves to go for walks and play in the backyard. He’s a smart guy and learns things quickly. He would enjoy another dog to play with, he can be a bit dominant, but he gets along very well with the dogs in his foster home as well as the cats. He may try to chase a cat that runs away, but with a firm no this behavior is easily stopped.

This little guy should go to an active home. He loves to play with his people and be very goofy and entertaining; he really is a ton of fun. He would learn some tricks easily and would really enjoy the attention that it brings. When he’s been cooped up inside he will pull on the leash, so he should have some leash training as well. He’s also house trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside.

Sammy’s coat and ears can get matted, so he will need to have regular brushing to keep it beautiful and should be taken to a groomer on a regular bais. This is just an adorable little boy, whose personality makes him even cuter!

If you can offer this boy a loving home with structure and rules please complete an adoption application at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/

Sammy has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.

There is a $50 adoption fee for Sammy.
