My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, my name is Jasper! I have been told that I am a very handsome border collie mix. I am estimated to be 6-7 years old, and weigh 48lbs. I am a devoted & loving companion, who is quite the charmer, and steals the hearts of everyone I meet. I am fully vetted and heartworm negative. I am not a running partner, fly ball dog, or a high energy dog. I do play once I am use to my surroundings, but I am not overly active. I know a few commands such as "sit", "down", and "shake". I do not jump up on people or furniture, and I am not an escape artist. I have not shown any signs of being fearful of noises, such as fireworks or thunder. I am house trained, crate trained, walk well on a leash, and enjoy car rides. My foster parents think that there are a couple of things that I need for my forever home. I need a home that does not have any steep staircases (a few is fine), a physical fence for my safety, and a home with some carpet or area rugs (for when I play inside). I do enjoy resting in my crate, and I need to be leash walked (as I get into my own world of investigation & for my safety). I need an experienced adopter who will be devoted to my eye care needs, as I have a dry eye condition. My eye condition does require eye drops, which are very easy to apply, because I sit very patiently. The cost of my eye drops are around $65.00 a month. The vet says that I will maintain the vision that I currently have (which is around 90%), as long as I continue the medications that are currently prescribed for me. It has also recently been discovered, that I have hip dysplasia (but don't let that fool you). I "love" going for walks & have been told that it is good for me to get light exercise (such as walking). I do take joint supplements every day, and pain medication when needed.

If you think that you could be that really special person with my forever home, contact my foster family so we can meet! I have a lot of love, hugs, and kisses to give. I am being fostered in the Greenville, SC area.

We adopt to homes in NC, SC, and GA. Our adoption fee is $225.00, we do a home visit, and would need a satisfactory vet reference. Please complete an application at www.prbcr.org
