My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet sweet Mori! Mori is a Dachshund mix. We are not sure what she is mixed with… Maybe Lab or Husky? She definitely has a Dachshund “look”, but she’s 45 pounds, so she is certainly mixed with something else. When people meet her, they just can’t get over her gorgeous blue eyes! They are simply stunning. Mori lived with a family for two years before she ended up in the shelter. We can’t imagine why her family would give this pretty girl up. She’s truly a love.

Mori has a fantastic personality and acts her age of 2 years old. She's still playful and fun but not terribly needy. She loves a good game of fetch and to play with lots of toys. She can entertain herself but she prefers to play with her person. She enjoys going for walks, which is a good thing since she could stand to lose a few pounds. Mori walks well on a short leash and doesn't seem to mind other dogs.

Mori currently lives in a condo where there is a lot of activity outside and she doesn't seem bothered by the noise. When she barks indoors it is just to get her foster mom’s attention, and if her foster mom tells her to "stop" and "lay down," that's exactly what she'll do. She’s a good listener! Mori is fine with the small dog in her foster home. For the most part, they ignore each other. Mori is more interested in interacting with her humans.

Mori is really an excellent dog with so much potential. She is already spayed, happily crate-trained, and we are firming up her housebreaking skills. She does very well on a schedule and with a solid routine. It may take her a few days to get used to a new environment so a patient and experienced dog-owner would be a good fit for her.

Mori would do best with an active person, couple, or family. She can get a little bit mouthy when she's playing, and she doesn't like her feet or tail touched, so a home with older children is preferred.

If you are interested in providing this sweet girl with the loving home that she deserves, please fill out an application and come meet Mori at our next adoption day event.

Mori is spayed, up to date with her shots, and microchipped.
