Facts about Bonnie

  • Breed: Catahoula Leopard Dog/Carolina Dog Mix
  • Color: Brindle - With White
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Bonnie is a sweet, shy medium sized girl that has had a really rough year life. Bonnie was living in a field next to a busy shopping center for over a year. She managed to dodge traffic and had several people leaving her food. In fact she was a bit plump upon rescue! She was initially in a foster home and did very well except she started to chase the cats so that didn't work. She has never had an accident inside and asks to go out and also knows how to use a doggy door. She lives with all the rescue dogs of all sizes and does great. Once Bonnie gets to know you she is a faithful companion. She does need a companion dog to help her with her shyness. She is now a love bug, plays, prances and dances when she is happy and is an overall great little gal. A little older kids would be best as small ones may scare her. Do you have it in your heart to give this sweet girl her furever home where she'll never have to fear being left in a field again? You honestly will not be disappointed. She amazes me more and more every day.

Please note that we are a TX based rescue so all of our dogs are located in TX. We work with Rescue Roadtrips to transport our dogs to their new forever homes upon approval of adoption application. The reason we do this is because TX is a high-kill state due to it being over populated with unwanted dogs, but wonderful dogs, and finding homes in other states helps us to save more lives. Our adoption fee for the NE is $355 ($170 adoption and $185 transportation).

About Katie's Roadside Rescue - Roanoke Chapter

About Our Rescue Group...

All dogs in KRR will be fully vetted and microchipped prior to adoption. Because of KRR's mission, all dogs must come back to this rescue so they never have to worry about being dumped along the road again.
Katie's Roadside Rescue is a no kill 501c3 non-profit organization with the mission of rescuing dogs left to fend for themselves. If they cannot be caught, at a minimum food and water is left for them. KRR currently does not accept owner surrenders nor do we pull from kill shelters. There seems to be plenty on the side of the road at this time.

Donations and volunteers are the heart and core of KRR and we could not function without the generous help from others. Please click on the PayPal link on the left to make donations toward our dogs' medical and housing needs. All support is greatly appreciated and needed. Financial information is posted on this site so you know where your donations are being used. We are willing at any time to provide you with information and to show that all funds are used for the animals in rescue.

Our Adoption Process...

You fill out an application at www.krrtx.org and we will call your references, vet and then be in touch to answer any questions you have about our dog. We may be able to provide videos and more pictures. We will then move toward the steps of setting up the transport for Delivery!! Simple and Fast!!
