Gus's Story...
Gus is back in rescue after being "given away" by his original adopter. He is now about 18 months old or so and a sweet boy although a bit shy of new situations. He does well with the dogs in his foster home and seems to be ok with the other animals also. He is neutered, up to date with shots, microchipped, HW negative and on prevention. He has a problem with his 3rd eyelid that will be surgically fixed shortly and then he will be ready for adoption. If you are interested in this sweet boy, go to www.hubbardshounds.com and submit an application. NO PHONE CALLS!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gus, a Homer Hound (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) for sale in Homer, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Homer.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homer already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homer breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type)/Shepherd (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homer paves the way for another one to be saved.
