Sadie's Story...
Sadie is a sweet and playful young cat, approximately one year old, who weighs a little more than six pounds. She took great care of her kitten, who has already been adopted, and is now ready to love and be loved in her own right. While Sadie tested positive for heart worms, the only treatment she needs is one Heartsoft chew a month, or a monthly application of Revolution or Advantage Multi for cats. Sadie loves to play, and is a purring machine with a beautiful blue/gray and white, short haired coat, and gorgeous green eyes.

We start all of our adoptions with a one week sleepover, so you know everything there is to know before finalizing the adoption.

BOGO (Buy one cat/kitten and get a 2nd one for free) Felines do better in pairs or even more than two. Some of our kitties are bonded pairs and will need to go together to their purrrfect home. Of course if you only want to adopt one then we also have kitties who can be adopted alone.

Adoption Fees for Cats and Kittens: $50 (BOGO)
This includes vetting, UTD Vaccinations and spay or neuter

We ask that you fill out an adoption application before you meet our animals. You can download it here: http://www.floridaurgentrescue.com/adopt

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sadie, a Jacksonville Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
