Facts about Nichole (Figgy)

This beautiful girl was picked up as a stray in Orangeburg, SC earlier this year. She was found scavaging for food behind a McDonald's with a prolapsed uterus. These dogs are overbred, usually for drug money and usually starting with their first heat, and then discarded when they are no longer of any use. Sinbad Sadie Second Chance Rescue rescued her, named her Nicole, and paid for her medical treatment (spaying and an ensuing infection). She then went into foster care and later boarding. I got her for a weekend in the middle of April for a respite from boarding, and à la the three hour tour from Gilligan's Island, I still have her. I renamed her Figgy, well, because she just is.
Figgy Pros:
•She loves everyone. Black, white, straight, gay, old, young. Everyone.
•She is super affectionate. She loves to give lots of kisses and cuddle on the sofa. (She loves to be read short stories. Hemingway is her favorite author.)
•She knows basic commands and walks well on a leash.
•She is fine with cats but will want to chase them when they run. She will scream like she's being murdered when they chase her.
Figgy Not so Pros:
•She is not completely house trained. But we're working on it.
•She gets very excited over things on walks; butterflies, squirrels, turtles, but especially other dogs. We are working on the dog excitement. She just finished six weeks of training with the Dog Whisperer, James Beltram, and is doing much better.
•She loves to play with other dogs but can play a bit too rough. She would do great with an alpha dog her size or bigger.
Figgy Eccentricities:
•She sounds like a helicopter when she is smelling things.
•She will snort and jump backwards at anything that scares her.
•She needs a 12 step program for her sock addiction. Seriously, it's bad.
•She eats sticks.
•She sees fairies.

About Sinbad-Sadie Second Chance Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Many shelters in South Carolina do not have the resources or space to adopt out the large number of animals they receive. We rescue animals at risk of being put to sleep due to these issues. All animals rescued live in foster homes. Foster families socialize and care for the needs of the animals before they are adopted out. We fundraise to provide for the many medical needs most of these animals have.

Come Meet Our Pets...

After completing an application, potential adopters can set up a time to meet the animal(s) of interest. We also have meet and greet events at pet supply stores in the Summerville area. Check our website (sinbadsadierescue.org) and facebook page for locations, dates and times.

Our Adoption Process...

An adoption application, home visit, trial period and contract are required for dogs. A trial period is not required for cats. Adoption fee is $150 for adult dogs, $200 for puppies, and $80 for cats. All animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated before adoption.
