Here's what the humans have to say about me:
NOTE: This is a courtesy posting for another rescuer. Please do not contact ARRF, as we do not know this pet personally. See the contact information below.
Mia, age 8, was part of the 42 dogs in a puppy mill confiscated by Animal Control. She has come a long way with socialization as she was kept in a shed with no windows for much of her life. She had ear mites and was covered with mange. Mia was part of a bonded pair. Sadly, she lost her sister recently. After grieving Lily's passing, Mia is now coming out of her shell and is showing more confidence and independence. We and her trainer feel she will blossom without Lily being so dependent on her. She is very sweet and loving.
We suggest a home with children over the age of 10 for this dog. Mia cannot be adopted out of state. Please see our homepage for a list of our Saturday adoption sites (http://fcianimals.org/).
Every potential adopter is required to fill out an adoption application and the dog is placed in the home that would be most suitable for the dog. We do not place our dogs in homes with unfenced swimming pools. Generally, we don't release the dogs at the adoption site that day except on occasion to former adopters.
If you are interested in adopting Mia, please email FCIAdoptions@aol.com or call 619-466-9137.
