Simon must go to a home with another playful dog.

Looking for something cute and sweet??? If so, meet Simon, a happy go lucky nine month old pup (Min Poodle/Am staff mix)who is the definition of adorable! It’s hard to imagine that anyone would let him out of their sight, but that’s exactly what happened as he was found all alone, alongside a road and in rough shape. Not knowing what to do, the couple who found him took him to a veterinary hospital and a caring vet tech agreed to take him and try to nurse him back to health. It appears that he must have eaten something that wasn’t edible, which is typical for puppies, but once that passed he recovered and has been the picture of health ever since!

Simon is now ready to expand his horizons and find the security of a forever home that he has been dreaming of. He is an outgoing, playful little guy and will need a fairly active family who will be committed to providing him with the right amount of exercise for a guy his age, plenty of mental stimulation to keep him from getting bored, as well as continued training and socialization. He is a curious little dude and really needs someone to keep him on his toes and watch carefully that he doesn’t try to eat something he’s not supposed to ever again. He is very much a pup, after all, and all puppies need a good leader and role model to help them grow up to be the best they can be! Simon simply loves everyone, human and animal, and he does best when he has another friendly dog to romp and play with. In fact, he loves other dogs so much that his forever family must include at least one other friendly, playful dog so that he has the canine companionship that he enjoys. In return, he will give you a lifetime of love and doggie kisses!

If your family is fairly active, fun loving, and looking for a little ray of sunshine to join in on life’s adventures, Simon just might be the one for you. He would love to meet you!

To meet this wonderful pet, come to one of our meet and greets (dates on our Facebook page) or fill out our online application to get the process started. Applications are also available on our website www.boomersangels.com.

The system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing a predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

About Boomer's Angels Animal Rescue & Care

About Our Rescue Group...

In rescue, we get to see lives of sadness turned to joy and loneliness turned into companionship. Such a bittersweet success story is one about a dog named Boomer. In late September of 2012, we heard about a stray dog living in the woods at a recycling center who had recently produced a litter of puppies. Apparently she had been there living rough with handouts from the workers there for at least three years. The dog, a female Pit bull mix was nervous and would take food, but wouldn't allow anyone to touch her. Naturally there was concern for her and her puppies and we hatched a plan to catch them as quickly as possible.
Over two trips to the site, three six week old puppies were found and taken to the safety of a foster home. Their mother remained a much more difficult task. Nervous and wary of strangers, she would take food from a distance but no one could get close to her. We knew that bringing this girl into the safety of the rescue would be a long haul. There were many trips over the following nine weeks, taking food (she loved chicken nuggets) and just sitting and waiting for her to appear from her home in the woods.
As Fall turned to Winter concerns grew for this homeless girl and the visits became more frequent. A trap had been set but she was a clever lady. Always avoiding the plate that would spring the door shut.
A shelter made from a crate with a straw bed for warmth was left for her and she began to use it. Slowly we gained the trust of this lonely dog until finally we were able to lure her into a crate and quickly shut the door. She was taken to the vet and a general check up revealed that she had Lyme disease but otherwise, at that time, she was a seemingly healthy girl.
What amazed us more than anything is, that once caught, this dog's ability to trust and feel comfortable had exceeded our wildest dreams. As she experienced the comforts of coming in out of the cold, she showed so much affection, as if to say thanks for the effort. She touched everyone she met. She was simply amazing.
Sadly, shortly after her capture, we noticed remarkable swelling in her neck and chest. After some tests she was diagnosed with lymphoma. It took her very quickly from us after her diagnosis. Although her time with us was way too short, she left a legacy that we are compelled to make sure lives on.

This is what rescue is about. Please help us in our mission to save animals like Boomer. Changing dark pasts into bright futures.

Our Adoption Process...

Boomer's Angel's goal is to place homeless animals into loving homes and families. We take special care to match the right home with the right animal, ensuring a lifetime of love for both the pet and the adopter. To ensure the best matches are made, we have a process that has been proven effective in determining the best homes for our animals. Our adoption process may seem time consuming or unnecessarily complicated, but please understand that we have our animal's best interests at heart. We strive to find the best homes possible for our animals, as well as find the right animal for you and your lifestyle.

Please understand that our organization is completely run by unpaid volunteers, who dedicate their free time to help the Animal. If your references are unavailable, it will delay the process, since those must be checked before moving forward. The entire adoption process takes time; we are unwilling to sacrifice being thorough when the animal's future is at stake. We thank you for your time and patience throughout our adoption process.

Step 1 – Fill out an Adoption Application

The first step is to have you fill out an adoption application. This application will tell us about you and your lifestyle, training beliefs and background with animals.

Step 2 – Application Review

Our application review volunteers will initially screen your application to determine if all necessary information was provided. If not you will be contacted to either fill out another application or provide additional information.

Step 3 – Landlord Approval Verified

If it is determined that you rent your home, your landlord will be contacted to make sure you have approval to have a dog in your home. We also ask about any breed or size limitations.

If your landlord does not allow for a dog in your home, your application will be denied at this point in the process.
