My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Amber is a very sweet girl, who has been in foster care for a couple of years. She is listed as Special Needs because she is very shy, and does not do well attending adoption events as it would be too stressful for her. At home, though, Amber is very relaxed and plays with her feline friend Angel. Amber needs to be adopted with her feline friend Angel. They have lived together their entire lifetime and they are a "bonded pair." It would be detrimental to each of them to be separated.

Amber was rescued from the shelter in summer 2013 with her single baby kitten. She was a great mama and took very good of him, and he was adopted once old enough. Before Amber ended up in the shelter, she most likely spent her life outside. She was a bit semi-feral and you could tell was not very trusting or used to being around people. Although Amber was very shy and didn't want to be held, she did love to be petted and scratched behind her ears, and would rub on and weave around your legs, as friendly cats do.

Amber developed a deep bond and friendship with Angel, another foster kitty in this foster home. Angel was also very shy, both with other cats and people, but really bonded with Amber. They developed an almost mother-daughter relationship since Amber took great care of Angel, snuggling and bathing her. Both Amber and Angel are very very sweet cats, they are just very shy, which is why they are listed as Special Needs... they would really do best adjusting to a new home together. They both are fine with other non-aggressive or territorial cats, and fine with calm dogs, and they would do best in a quiet and calm environment. After a little time adjusting to their new home and surroundings, they will be able to settle in and learn to trust their new human family members. They are so very deserving of a great home with loving humans. They just need someone who will understand that by giving them a home, you are not only getting two beautiful and sweet cat family members, but, most of all, you are creating a loving environment for two kitties who otherwise would have surely seen death at the shelter.

Amber is spayed, has tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia, has a microchip and is up to date on her shots. Amber and Angel need to be adopted as a pair. The fee to adopt Amber and Angel will be lower than if you were adopting two adult cats separately.

If you would like to know more information about either Amber or Angel, please contact foster, Christy, at 312-339-2208 or at christy.boyce@gmail.com.
