Leia is a sweet sweet baby not quite ready for adoption but should be in next 3 weeks so I am going ahead and getting her posted.

Leia was found and taken to local kill shelter when she was still just too young to be away from her mom.   We took her in with a wonderful foster and she has had her first few vet appts with expectation of being ready for adoption in the coming weeks.

Leia is very smart and curious and has a wonderful sweet personality. She is very much still developing her own little personality but is getting socialized and already learning basics of being a great puppy!

She's good with other animals including cats, does well in crate, stays in while I'm at work, lets me know when she needs out at night but not quite house broken yet. I think once she can make through the night, she'll catch on really quick.

She will be ready for adoption by  October 1st  and excited to have a home of her own!

About Cody's Friends Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................

Our Adoption Process...

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. Upon request, they are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $200 to $250 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $300 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.
** Please note that I do not usually adopt out my dogs with children under four years of age.
