Precious Elka! She was born Nov 19th of 2014, just two days after her mom, who was a Doberman pinscher mix was pulled from a high kill facility. Unfortunately, her mom was in such bad shape that she passed away shortly after a complicated labor where she lost several of her babies. Her remaining puppies (4) we hand raised and adopted to families. Unfortunately, Elka was returned to rescue in July. She is still a puppy and weighs 45 lbs. She is short and kind of a low rider which makes the vet think she may be mixed with basset hound (her father is unknown) but she also looks to have some Rottweiler in her lineage. Her siblings are all doing great in their homes but Elka was struggling to fit into hers after the other dog in the home that was her buddy and strength passed away. She has blossomed in rescue in confidence and adapting. She loves other dogs of all sizes, is fascinated but gentle with cats, and is great with our children and the pigs even! She loves to cuddle on the couch with people and corrects easily. A simple 'no' and she redirects. She is such a gorgeous girl with a soft and shiny coat. Elka deserves her forever after. Meet and greets are only scheduled after adoption application approval. We ask for only 48 hours to process the application! FBS standard adoption fee is $150. This assists with the cost of vetting.
