My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meow! My name is Teddy and I am looking for a new home...no, not because I have any issues or misbehave, but my current family has a special needs child and that little boy just doesn’t understand that I am not a toy, even though I probably look like a playful little teddy bear to him.

Let me tell you about myself. I was purchased when I was a kitten, so I have been with my current family since I was a baby. I have to admit that I have a couple of little quirks and I hope you, my new parent, won’t mind. I think my quirks make me extra special and charming; well, perhaps you find them silly, but what can I say, that’s just who I am!

So here is my confession: I like drinking out of a water bowl in the bathroom or I will drink out of the dog’s water dish when he isn’t watching, but I ignore my own bowl...yup, you read that right! I also enjoy eating while I am high up on the washing machine and I have no interest in eating my food at floor level. What can I say? That’s just who I am. Oh, I almost forgot: in order to get to my food on the washing machine, I need to be placed up there by my human. Since I am neither Superman and can fly nor a Bengal cat and can jump up high, I need to be placed on that washing machine so I can munch on my food. Yup, that’s my world, and I like it fine that way! Well, maybe I need some therapy to address these specific behaviors, but that’s what’s going on in my current environment and I just wanted to let you know ahead of time.

One of my favorite activities is lying under a fan while my long fluffy fur gets blown around. Speaking of long fluffy fur, of course, as any great Himi loving parent knows, my coat needs to be brushed at least every two days; otherwise, I get lots of knots. I enjoy bathing and will sit in a few inches of warm water to be washed. Ok, I admit that the rinsing part isn’t one of my favorite activities, but my current owner found out that when I am starting to shed a lot and start knotting, she will just rinse me with a gentle conditioner and I am fine. Sounds like a routine I can agree on with my new parent as well.

I love being held like a human baby, but typically only when my human is standing while holding me. I am not a lap kitty, so please don’t sit down while you hold me. I told you I have some quirks.
My current family has a German Shepherd of whom I am not afraid despite the fact that I am only about 7 lbs. to his 95 lbs. However, I don’t like being chased by him or any other dogs for that matter. I tolerate other feline companions as long as they leave me along. If they don’t, they can expect a swat from me if they happen to walk by or don’t respect my personal space.

I am not a kitty that needs to sleep with my humans, but I will check in with them for some time each day to greet and interact with them. I am a smart kitty and know how to train my humans; at least, my current mom has figured out exactly what I need because I will lead her to it. Usually, I ask her to pull up the blinds so I can engage in my daily bird watching routine. I am told I am a very nice kitty and will set my own rituals. I am really looking forward to training my new parents so we can share lots of fun, love, and affection in the years to come.

Oh, I also want to let you know that I am eating "Royal Canin SO" wet and dry food so I can stay regular. There. I said it.

Thank you for your time reading my bio, and I am looking forward to meeting you soon.
Meows and purrs from Teddy.
