My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our gorgeous Buster is back. This boy is a wonder, and his only fault according to the folks that adopted him was that he 'tore things up'. I do believe he has some sort of separation anxiety issue, and rather than working with him his adopters chose to return him without trying. Buster is a male lab/pit bull terrier mix found as a stray on Milltown Road on 1-27-16. He is black and white in color and weighs 48.5 pounds. He is a young male around 2 years old.

He LOVES his people. Being with his people. He is the same loving Buster that left us and came back to us. He is playing just as high energy as before and is getting along with the boys and girls. Since he's been neutered he does just great. And he's so intelligent we know this guy will learn anything he needs to quickly. He is very food motivated, and when you call and say "Kennel" he runs right in, then turns and looks at you as if to say, "Okay now what?!" He can jump high and pays very close attention to his handler. He knows sit and wants to please! He was fine with the shelter cats.

So if you think that this smart and fun loving guy might make a great new addition to your home, then stop in and see our Buster as soon as possible before someone else scoops this wonderful boy up. He's neutered, had all of his vaccinations, been dewormed, and he is heartworm negative! His adoption fee thanks to the Shelter Vol Fund is $15 to an approved indoor home, fenced in yard, adopter.

After you have brought proof of your dogs spay/neuter back to the shelter $50 of that adoption fee will be returned to you, or you may choose to donate it so that another dog can be spayed or neutered at our shelter.

By TN state law stray dogs are held for 3 days so they can be found by their owners before being put up for adoption or rescue. A dog found as a stray wearing a collar is held for 5 days before it is put up for adoption or rescue. Our shelter is a first come first adopt/rescue facility. There are no holds placed on dogs for potential adopters/rescue. They are available at 7am on the day they are available and must be picked up and paid for at that date/time. An adopter or rescue cannot call and hold a dog to be picked up at a later date. It is available to the public until it walks out the door.
