Pugsley - Adoption Pending's Story...
Pugsley is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH), black, male kitten, 16 weeks of age (1-27-16).

Pugsley should have been named Snugsley, because while being curiously playful like his siblings (Wednesday, Lurch, and Gomez) and always ready for fun and games, his favorite pastime is snuggling and sharing affection with “his” people who he’ll happily be purring “I love you” to. Content to find a warm, sunny spot or favorite perch to watch the activities going on around him or nap the afternoon away after attention-seeking and playtime is over (for the moment), this confident little kitten is looking for a home where he can mature into adulthood and live the rest of his days as a much-loved, cherished pet and companion.

Pugsley was rescued from Monroe County Animal Control along with his three siblings, his mother, Morticia and his aunt, Ophelia. He was treated for Giardia, Coccidia, Roundworm, and a flea infestation at intake; he is now a healthy, happy kitten looking for his forever home.

Pugsley is best suited as an indoor pet and companion for a home with a low to moderately-active lifestyle. He is a social and friendly cat who gets along well with other compatible cats, and he’s comfortable in the presence of well-mannered dogs who respect his space. As with all Monroe SPCA adoptable cats, a home visit and a meet-n-greet with any housemate pets will be required prior to adoption.

Pugsley currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Resale Store/The Fur Factory. Come meet him during store hours, Tuesday – Saturday, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm and 4:00 - 6:00 pm, closed Sunday, Monday, and National Holidays. All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $75.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, and micro-chipped prior to adoption.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Dundee already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Dundee breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Dundee paves the way for another one to be saved.
