Meet Joey Doves! This handsome American Staffordshire terrier/Labrador Retriever mix arrived at The Barking Lot from a shelter in Orange County. This well-mannered boy has stolen the hearts of volunteers, showing off his perfect leash skills and knowledge of basic commands, such as “sit.” When in the play yard, he will follow anyone around, patiently waiting for treats and affection. Joey has accompanied volunteers on K9rs hikes all over San Diego County and he has proven himself to be an excellent hiking buddy. We think that Joey is housebroken, for he has not gone to the bathroom in his kennel since his arrival. At 3 years old as of February 2017, Joey Doves weighs in at 55 pounds and that is as big as he will get. His soft, short brown coat will require minimal grooming. Joey Doves would love to live in an active home, with a family that loves adventuring as much as he does! With a face and head tilt like his (and a goofy smile to boot), we think that he will not be with us for long. Want to meet Joey Doves? Then submit an app today!
