My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SPECIAL NOTE (Feb 2nd): Evie is on medical hold until possibly summer of 2016

NOTE: Photos of Evie soon to come!

Hi!

My name is Evie. I am a blue merle mixed female Great Dane.

I am approximately 6 years old.

I am crate trained. I do well in the crate when my human is out of the house.

I am good with people of all ages and I’m gentle with them, including human toddlers and grandparents.

I know some basic commands like “Sit”, “Shake”, and I stop whenever I hear “No”.

I am nice to other dogs and I do have a tendency to ignore female dogs. I just prefer to be with humans than dogs because I like pleasing my humans.

I am house-broken but I don’t give cues when I need to go potty. I’ll need my human to get into a habit of letting me out every few hours. I always want to come right back in after I do my business.

My foster family just love my eyes! They also say that I am a perfect companion dog!

Because I love my humans and loves to help, I’ve been told that I ought to become a therapy dog. You see, I love to let my human use me to balance herself as she rise from bed or couch. I also love to lay by my human’s feet, ready to help if needed. My foster mom and family say that I am the ultimate catch! I listen so well to my humans.

My foster family have yet to hear me bark. I use my body language, facial expressions (especially my eyes) to communicate with my humans, so why should I need to bark?

I mean, humans give me treats and stuff!
If you don't want me on the couch with you, I am fine with that. If you want a cuddle buddy right next to you, all you have to do is just say the word and I’ll join you on the couch!

Currently, I have some medical needs that needs to be taken care of before I’m ready for adoption. I am under treatment for heart-worm. After my treatment is over, I will be spayed.

It would be awesome if you could help me by way of donation. If you can help me, please contact the Forever Friends Great Dane Rescue (FFGDR) on how you can donate.

By Summer 2016, I’ll be ready for adoption and I want and need at least one human for me to please and to shadow. Will you be become my family?
