My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pearl and Perry are 2 Maltese that were recently released from a puppy mill. Pearl, a five year old female, is affectionate and sweet. She likes to play chase & spar with Perry who is a one year old, male. He loves stuffed toys and shows promise in retrieving a ball. His favorite ball makes noises. They both get along with other dogs, use a piddle pad and a doggy door. They stay together with whatever they do and are rarely more than inches apart. They sleep together and prefer their own bed rather than the couch. They are fearful of being picked up and sitting in your lap yet are making progress daily. Pearl loves petting all over & Perry comes running for affection too yet is more timid initially. Pearl weighs about eight and half pounds while Perry is a bit larger weighing around 10 lbs. Pearl was spayed, brought up to date on vaccinations and had a much needed dental, having to have 6 teeth extracted. Her foster mom reports she is having no problem eating dry food now that she has recovered. Pearl also tested negative for heartworms and is receiving heartworm and flea/tick prevention to maintain her good health. Perry was neutered, brought up to date on vaccinations and had a dental but his teeth just needed to be cleaned. They are both heart worm negative and being kept on monthly heartworm and flea and tick prevention to maintain their good health. If you would like to adopt Pearl and Perry, the first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers.
