Gibson's Info...

Gibson's Story...
You can call me Gibson or Gibby or Gibbs....I'll come find you. While my 'paperwork' has me listed as a Lab/American Staffordshire Terrier, my foster mom thinks there may be a bit of Beagle in there too....I like to bay!! I'm 45#'s of muscle and quite strong, got a weight lifters body, big chest, little bum! Near as anyone can tell I'm bout 5 yrs old. I am really comfortable around the house, if it's soft and squishier I lay on it and nap, love to ride in the car....prefer the 'shotgun' spot so I can look out the window. I get along well with my foster brother and sister even am friendly with little dogs, but haven't met the cat here yet, so that is something to be explored. I love my crate, will go in and take a nap, house training is a piece of cake....but cause there is another male dog in the house, must watch out for 'marking' initially. My foster Mom feels I like kids, but probably not babies or toddlers. I know basic commands, sit, down and such, am learning others. As far as leash walking, I am a puller, gotta get there before all the fun stuff is over! So practice in this area will help. Love the yard w/ the fence, I have lots of room to explore outside and play w/ my foster siblings. I like chew toys, soft toys and balls....just about anything I'll grab and toss up in the air. I am micro-chipped, neutered, UTD on shots, basically all ready to go. I just need a furever home to go to! So if you are looking for a couch potato or some one to go on walks with I'm your man! My adoption is fee is $200 and to apply for me, please email rescueofhope@gmail.com for an application. Thanks!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gibson, a Grand Rapids Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Grand Rapids, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Grand Rapids.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Grand Rapids already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Grand Rapids breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Grand Rapids paves the way for another one to be saved.
