4 year old american bulldog/pit mix. hw positive, unaltered. Deaf, some loss of peripheral vision, but not blind. This does not hold her back in any way. Just a few months back she was labeled as the most depressed dog in Georgia as she sat in an animal control facility in Cordele, Ga. She was very thin, skin was in bad shape, and she was very unhappy.Fast forward to now, she has put on weight, her skin looks great, she is ALWAYS HAPPY. Her tail and body, always wagging. She LOVES every dog that she comes across. No aggression of any kind, with food, toys, other dogs, etc. Her only downfall when it comes to other dogs is that she doesn't have the greatest social skills with them. It's as if she's never been taught to be a dog, or play like a dog. She plays very rough but does not get aggressive. Other dogs may not like the rough play and let her know by way of "checking" her. She doesn't hear it, so she continues the play.Chaya is very high energy, she needs someone who can work with her and get her "attention". Someone who has knowledge with deaf dogs or just someone with a lot of time and patience. It amazes me to see the pure joy and happiness coming from this girl. Chaya is crate trained. She will lay nicely in her crate. She loves bully sticks, hooves, busy bones, etc. She will let you know when she has to go potty. She can get quite vocal then, and if not taken out in a timely manner (after she notifies you) can have the occassional accident, which is few and far between.
