Facts about FruitLoop

  • Breed: Conure
  • Color: Unknown
  • Age: Unknown
  • Sex: Female
Fruitloop is an adorable 8 year-old jenday conure who needs a lot of foraging opportunities and cardboard chew toys to keep her busy and distract her from plucking her feathers. She loves spending time on her playpen and taking a dip in her birdbath. When she is ready to have her head scratched, she will cock her head and put one claw over her beak as if to say, “Go ahead! I won’t nip you!” Fuitloop knows step-up and responds to her name and to a whistle. She has learned to be gentle with people she trusts and does better when she is approached slowly. She is on a healthy diet of Roudybush pellets and daily fresh fruit. Occasional treats of Avicake will certainly make you her new best friend! About Phoenix Landing Foundation Asheville NC

About Our Rescue Group...

The Phoenix Landing Foundation (PL) is a non-profit all-volunteer organization. PL promotes and protects the welfare of parrots, especially those with an extensive lifespan. We provide for parrots of all types in need, and act as advocates for those without protection. Visit our website at http://www.phoenixlanding.org for more information. We also sponsor great educational seminars! All are welcome (please do not bring your birds or other pets). Most of PL's classes are free, although of course we always welcome donations.

Come Meet Our Pets...

.Most of our birds are being fostered in private homes in the MD, VA, NC, SC, and DC area. Sometimes, we have foster families bring their birds to these events for prospective adopters to meet them.

Our Adoption Process...

We require:
- An Adoption Application
- A brief in-Home Visit with you and your family (for birds larger than a cockatiel)
- Attendance at an Intro class (recommended for all, required for birds larger than a cockatiel). For large birds (macaws, cockatoos, amazons, greys, eclectus, etc.) we also require an Advanced class.
- An Adoption Fee (for birds larger than a cockatiel) -- adoption fees vary, larger birds have higher fees
