My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

KELLY is a 5 year old spayed black female Lab who weighs 60 pounds. Kelly is a nice girl. She walks well on lead. Kelly was dog tested at the shelter, and the testing went great. From foster: Kelly is settling in well. She may like the cat, because we're all sitting on the sofa together. So, we'll see how things go. Kelly was an owner surrender to the shelter, because her owners were moving. She is approved for kids 10+.

Update (2/9): Kelly is an easy foster and is super sweet - she is all about sharing hugs (amazing lab lean) and kisses with her people! House training was a success, and she is relaxed and happy. She was able to jog and play in the yard today for the first time after her spay, and had a blast chasing snowflakes with the resident dogs. The jury is still out on the cat. They now co-exist and Kelly corrects easily with a "leave it". She may do well with a dog savvy cat.

Update (2/6): Kelly has settled into her foster's household and her sweet personality is coming out as she recovers from her spay. She gets along well with the resident dogs and walks calmly on leash. She is a bit too interested in the cat when it moves so best to not mix with cats. Kelly is very loving, has a fabulous lab lean and gives sweet kisses. She is catching on to basic commands very quickly and responds well to rewards of ear rubs or treats. She does not get into things at the house and will not need to be crated once we complete potty training. Sleeps through the night on a dog bed in the master, and does not stay on the furniture despite encouragement from the resident dogs.
